Keller Williams Realty, The Peters Group, Inc. and/or Nick Peters assume no liability as a result of services rendered by any contractor on the list.  We provide the list strictly for your convenience, not as an endorsement of their services.  Please note that virtually every vendor we refer was given to us by clients who were very pleased with the vendor’s overall performance.

Keller Williams Realty/The Peters Group, Inc. recommends that you:

1.     Check the contractor's history, insurance information and license status through the State Contractor's License Board:   http://www.cslb.ca.gov/;

2.      Obtain three bids minimum for comparison;

3.      Ask for a current list of local references prior to hiring the winning contractor;

4.     Insist the contractor obtain the necessary permits required to complete the job, and ask to see the permits;

5.    Make certain the contractor calls for regular and timely inspections;

6.    Withhold a percentage of the project cost until the permits have been finalized.

7.    Check with the city. In some South Bay cities, for a small fee, someone from the city will come out as many times as it takes to make sure the contractor did what he said he was going to do.
